Voters should know an out of touch politician when they see one, and not knowing what the fuck gas costs is one of the tried and true ways to identify one. Trump thinks it’s in the 5 to 8 dollar range-a claim true to form with him-that not only is he making stuff up, he always jacks the nonsense up a step higher. Five to eight (I mean really now???eight???) my ass, maybe in Cali at 5 but that’s it. Be a little wrong, dude. Being bigly wrong might cause enough people to leave your cause.
Donald Trump is, as always, stupid and wildly out of touch, unless we are talking about him identifying with the needs of simpletons to be ruled by a strongman. Somehow he’s doing better than ever. The whiff of fascism is again in the air. Talk of “dictatorship, jk” invades your morning reads. And I fear if we don’t put Donald Trump in jail before the the election that this piece of offal will somehow be entrusted at the country’s helm again-but even still, if that bag of scales and wind indeed does win, he might still be able to pardon himself.
Clearly, the pardoning part of the Constitution could have used a little exposition on how they are to be used. I am reasonably certain no sane court of law is going to seriously hand down an argument that the president enjoys immunity from criminal behaviour while in office. But nevertheless, the conservative Supremes, prodded by Jack Smith, are going to actually rule on if that is possible by the end of the new year-which may mean that bringing Trump to justice, has been a giant waste of money and manpower to nab a nightmare of a self-dealing narcissistic slug like Trump. The Court has been rather unsympathetic to the Trump cause so far, swatting down several election challenges in 2020. So I say 7-2 he goes back to trial where Judge Chutkan can resume presiding over Don The Con’s fate in the spring. Alito and Thomas dissent.
