We here in the United States have what is probably an outsized obsession with our history. We fucking ADORE our founding document, for example. Its words can be heard in many an ordinary discussion. Some think it so perfect that amendments to it should be few, so that we can apply more effectively that which is there. We love our enumerated rights just the way they are.
It’s OK as basic rights go. Chunks of it were cribbed from much older documents from English history.
