War Whoop

In my last two missives, I was pretty fucking hard on the Democrats and Joe Biden for abetting the wanton destruction of Gaza.

One might get the sense that I am abandoning the party and not voting. I’m writing to dispel that. Unlike Macklemore, I cannot in good conscience hand another term to fuckhead. While ol’ Joe has given people the feeling that Democrats are just another war party, it remains true that they are sensitive to pressure from within their caucus and it seems they know that roiling disgust over our actions and inactions regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict is going to cost them dearly this year.

The invasion of Rafah was characterized by Biden as a “red line”, and Netanyahu’s war cabinet is ignoring it. In answer, the administration is holding up a shipment of thousands of bombs. It’s progress, but we need to ratchet up the arm bar a little more as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians run from place to place to flee the carnage. Even in Israel, thousands are protesting the government for an end to this war so their loved ones can come home. Some Israeli observers are even calling this war a genocide– and based on ultranationalist rhetoric, that’s unabashedly what the aim is. Democratic voters in increasing numbers are using the G-word too. This is still a representative democracy last I checked, and I strongly suggest Democratic leaders get the wax out of their ears, hear the dissatisfaction and anger loud and fucking clear-otherwise, they’re just going to give the country over to Mango Mussolini once again. And what for? So Israel can extract its pound of flesh any way they choose? It’s foolishness.

But it would be short-sighted to not participate in the elections. We already did that once, and let Trump in the front door. Unfortunately, this electorate has got brain damage and doesn’t seem to remember the awfulness of the Trump years. Well, for my part, I did what I could to chronicle it- not that anyone really saw it. Maybe some of you need reminders of the fuckery. I have been a blogger for many moons, and wrote dozens and dozens of entries trying to keep up with how much it sucked under Trump. My writing about the Trump regime begins here. Tales of ordinary madness are interspersed as it should be known to all that I sometimes I drop the marbles, through no fault of my own. Those entries range from amusing to harrowing.

I’m going to get back to trying to scare you about Project 2025 and its retarded stepbrother, Trump’s Agenda 47 soon enough. But I wanted to make clear that I won’t yet write off my party as hopeless, as it looks like evolution from its base will make them straighten the fuck up and tell Biden to do whatever is necessary to get Israel to stand down. From there, we have got to change policy and stop trying to kill or put off the drive for a Palestinian state, which is the only way to end the armed struggle of a people who have been steadily losing their homes for over 70 years. I’d like to think that if it were your homes that were being bulldozed, you’d flip the fuck out too.
