It looks like we are celebrating Kristen Olsen (R-Clueless Land) Day here at the seminary. This will be twice today that she has showed up on my radar. Not even Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, nor Louie Gohmert has accomplished this feat. I can barely bring myself to write about Palin even once.
Earlier today, I caught California’s Olsen being jaw-droppingly stupid about the efficacy of vaccinations and how she whined about “parent choice”, which is a lot like “leaving it to the states”-it’s a moron’s way of sidestepping a difficult issue. Let that hen out. I go back to my regular reads and THERE SHE IS AGAIN, being stupid on an entirely different subject:
Assemblymember Kristin Olsen (R-Modesto) suggested to a Fresno-area conservative talk radio show that “maybe we do need to make it harder” to vote in order to increase voter participation.
It’s just like anything in life, if there’s something you can’t have, you want it even more … maybe we do need to make it harder and that that in and of itself would increase participation.”
Later, Olsen blasted California Democrats who “just want more people voting,” complaining that “it does sound nice and that’s why it’s hard to argue against.”
Calling that pretzel logic is an insult to logic and pretzels. But there it is.
As for me, if I can’t have something, I don’t want it even more. In my finer moments, I do cost-benefit analyses and decide accordingly how I am going to feel about that certain something I don’t have and whether or not I should forget about it. I’m not five. I can regulate my desires. I guess they don’t do that in Modesto.
Way to go, California. You can keep her. But mark my words-you all will be hearing from this dingaling again. The GOP loves an idiot, and she’s got that game covered. I say make her governor immediately.
Powers/Cruz ’24!
