Antediluvian senator Chuck Grassley is coming out against universal background checks to purchase firearms:
Well, I guess this is no surprise. DC v. Heller effectively scribbled out the parts of the Second Amendment that conservatives didn’t like, so this is the next logical step where no one can stop anyone from owning a gun anymore. This way lies madness of course, because there’s a lot of people who shouldn’t be able to arm themselves. This is self evident. What never ceases to amaze me, though, is that every time we have a mass shooting event, the reflexive solution for Republicans is less gun regulation.
