Steve’s been cast and casted himself as quite the lightning rod lately when it comes to tearing down our democracy. Roger Stone says he’s the poobah behind the Capitol attack. Now it’s probably not wise to listen to anything Roger Stone says without a little evidence, but is it really a bridge too far to think there’s a grain of truth to it? After all, his rhetoric leading up to the attack certainly suggests he knew what was going to happen. He’s a known “accelerationist” who wants to bring down the state. This is all circumstantial musing at this point, but it would not surprise me if it were easy to establish motive and method against him.
Anyway, he’s now making noise about decertifying the 2020 election:
“We are going to get it decertified,” Bannon said, referring to the 2020 presidential election, which the hotly contested MAGA character erroneously insists Trump won. “And hey, all they want to talk about all day long is Omicron and 6 January. And we love it,” he continued. “Cuz nobody cares. We care because we care about the legitimacy of our process. We are a constitutional republic. And guess what, we are going to take over the election apparatus.” Bannon further noted that “American citizens” will aid him in the proposed election system takeover.
It wouldn’t be the first time I heard Steve Bannon say something that sounds like a pipe dream. As dimwit Mike Lindell has found out, the 2020 election is going nowhere. Bannon should cool his jets and wait for 2022, where all of the voter suppression laws the Republicans have already passed will likely hand control of Congress to them. The dirty work is already done-I feel like Bannon is late to the party. It simply won’t matter if Joe Biden sticks around until 2024. Oh sure, Joe still has veto power, but when has a little gridlock bothered the GOP? They love it when nothing gets done.
His last words in the interview are bizarrely cryptic:
“I understand you don’t think that’s democracy because the globalists have done the misdirection plays and had everyone looking the other way,” he added.
I don’t know what he means. To understand I would have to go down the rabbit hole of extreme white American nationalism vs. “globalism” and I just don’t have it in me today to examine that particular fight in detail. The nationalists are fascist, and that’s all we need to know.
