Bother Someone Else
I don’t know if I can stand reading Salon anymore. Every fucking day they feature an apologist for faith and religion. But they do it in an insidious way; what they do is write long polemics against atheists or non-believers. Why do they get to do this? Because it’s easy and you don’t get in trouble for insulting us. I’m waiting for the stories that attack believers…the stories that attack a certain race of people…or an attack from a straight person on gay people. Oh, but you can’t do that. But atheists? Sure. Kick them around because it’s socially safe, an unprotected minority. It’s OK to be a fucking fundamentalist Christian, but it isn’t OK to be out, proud, and loud about our convictions as non-believers.
If a religion can’t stand up for itself-if your faith can’t handle criticism- pound sand. The foundation you are on is rickety and crumbling. We’re just pointing it out.
